4. “Friday Night Lights”
One of the oldest shows on this list, the fact that it is still talked about almost 10 years later is a testament to how great “Friday Night Lights” was. For being simply a show about high school football at first glance, the characters of Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler), his family, and the whole team, pulled us in and demanded we tune in each week for all their emotional drama.
The finale focuses on the characters, which is what makes the story so great. And in particular, it highlights the marriage of Eric and Tami Taylor (Connie Britton), the couple we all dream of being part of when we are older. The episode ends with the promise of another chapter, as Coach agrees to follow his wife as she goes for her dream after she’s spent years supporting his.
