2. “Sharp Objects”
“Sharp Objects” on HBO, based on the book by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl), was planned as a limited series. It’s possible that we could get a second season, but as of right now, HBO has reported that there won’t be another season, which is how I think it should be. Amy Adams plays Camille Preaker, a reporter who is sent to her hometown to investigate a few missing girls.
It’s hard to succinctly describe the show, so I’m just going to encourage you to watch yourself, especially if you love dark, psychological mysteries. The first season of “Sharp Objects” fully tells the story of what happened to the girls, as well as Camille’s own harsh history with her hometown. In the last episode -- actually, the last 15 minutes of the last episode -- the whole story gets thrown for a loop in a dark twist that we really should’ve seen coming. Just a tip, there are two post-credit scenes that you shouldn't miss!
