When you play the younger version of an iconic Halle Berry superhero character in a movie, doesn’t that give you an automatic in to play another iconic Halle Berry superhero character? Alexandra Shipp first got attention after portraying late R&B singer Aaliyah in a Lifetime biopic then went on to star in the Oscar-nominated film Straight Out of Compton. She also has experience in superhero movies, having starred as Ororo Munroe, AKA Storm, previously played by Halle Berry, in the latest X-Men movies. A great actress who can kick ass is just what we want for our Catwoman.
