We’ve been binge-watching "Friends" (possibly our favorite comfort show) for years waiting for a possible reunion, and the time has finally come! Lisa Kudrow (who played Phoebe Buffay) confirmed that the cast will be doing a reunion! Last year, the cast was supposed to film a reunion for the launch of HBO Max, but production was delayed multiple times due to the pandemic. Kudrow told Rob Lowe, in an interview for his podcast, that the reunion is actually underway this time and she has already shot a scene for it! The reunion is going to be unscripted and it's expected to come out on the streaming service in 2021.
Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that's the way I like it!

Here are 5 things we are hoping to see in this year’s reunion special:
1. The Central Perk Set (and Gunther)
Just like everyone else, the first thing that came to mind when we heard about the "Friends" reunion was, what is Central Perk going to look like? The reunion is set to film on the famous stage the show was filmed on for all 10 seasons — Stage 24 at Warner Brothers Studio. But, is it going to look exactly the same or will it be more 2021? Also, you may remember Gunther who worked at Central Perk. Is anyone else wondering what happened to him too? Do we think he is still hopelessly in love with Rachel or has he moved on? For his sake, we hope he has because we all know Ross and Rachel end up together.
2. Kids!
Probably the most anticipated part of the reunion is going to be seeing the kids all the characters had, or maybe didn’t have. Will Ross and Rachel have kids? How are Chandler and Monica’s adoptive twins? We have so many questions. Who knows? They might also throw us all for a loop and give us unexpected news on all the couples. We can’t wait to find out!
3. The "Smelly Cat" Song and The Holiday Armadillo
Two of the show’s funniest episodes involved Phoebe’s song "Smelly Cat", which we are really hoping to get a rendition of in the new show, and Ross dressing up as the Holiday Armadillo. We obviously hope to see them both in some form during this year’s reunion. We’re also hoping to hear some of Phoebe’s other greatest hits like "My Mother's Ashes" and "Addicted to Pork”.
4. Guest Stars
Over the 10-year lifespan of the show, we got to see some insanely iconic guest stars, and we’re hoping at least a couple of them make appearances on the reunion special. Some of the guest stars you may have forgotten about include Danny DeVito, Sean Penn, and Bruce Willis. HBO, if you’re listening, we wouldn’t be mad at a couple of Brad Pitt or Reese Witherspoon moments!!
5. The Apartment
In the final scene, the cast says goodbye to their (Monica and Chandler’s) beloved apartment. So, naturally, we’ve been wondering what happened to it. Also, we can’t help but wonder who lives there now and what it currently looks like.
The cast has been pretty vocal on social media about the reunion special, so there are sure to be more updates to come when filming ramps up. What are you hoping to see in the reunion?
