Participants of Lifetime’s eye-opening “Surviving R. Kelly” documentary became overwhelmed with emotion when they won the award for Best Documentary. For them, the award meant more than just another trophy on the shelf. “It really speaks to the important cultural impact generated from this documentary,” said Lifetime’s senior vice president Brie Miranda Bryant. "Six months later, we are still standing in this room telling the story, so thank you."
