4. Black Christmas (Canada, 1974)
If you love horror movies and don’t want to give up on them while you drink your hot cocoa and dream about reindeer, this is the film for you. Inspired by the short story “The Babysitter and the Man Upstairs”, this slasher film follows a group of sorority sisters who begin to get strange calls and frightening visits from a serial killer during Christmas. It’s one of the earliest slasher films, and since its release, it has gained a cult following.
