5 Classic Shows Every TV Fan Should See!

1. "I Love Lucy" (1951-1957)

Although this show has many cringeworthy moments that would leave feminists gawking -- like Lucy going by Mrs. Ricky Ricardo instead of her own name -- you need to remember it was set during the 1950s when woman’s rights were not the same as they are today. But this show is worth watching for many reasons, including being one of, if not the, first interracial couples on television and actually depicting a pregnant woman on TV (which was pretty taboo at the time). This show pioneered television and is to thank for multi-camera sitcoms today. It was the most-watched television show of its time and even today leaves me on the floor laughing. The show centers on Lucy (Lucille Ball) and her husband Ricky Ricardo (Desi Arnaz) in New York City. It is full of shenanigans, miscommunications, and some of the funniest of gags! You can travel back and catch the '50s now on Hulu and Amazon Prime!
