If you’re like me, then the first thing you did when Disney launched their VERY highly-anticipated streaming service, Disney+, was fire up the premiere episode of “The Mandalorian”, the equally anticipated Star Wars spin-off series focusing on a mysterious bounty hunter played by Pedro Pascal (not to be confused with Boba Fett, who was indeed a bounty hunter but was NOT a Mandalorian), taking place about 3 years after the fall of the Empire following Return of the Jedi.
The first episode, which is just shy of 40 minutes in length, has a pretty reputable team behind it. Created and written by Jon Favreau – the man behind such blockbusters as Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and the live-action reboots of Disney classics The Jungle Book and The Lion King – and featuring a lineup of writers and directors that includes Dave Filoni (writer of pretty much all the Star Wars animated series) and the mastermind himself, George Lucas, suffice it to say that the pressure was on to create something that could unite ALL Star Wars fans.
So far… it seems they might have found the magic formula!
If you’re still on the fence, though, and have been stuffing your brain with old re-runs of “That’s So Raven” or the new Lady and the Tramp remake, then here are some reasons you should quit dallying and get on board "The Mandalorian" train! [very mild spoilers ahead]
