Actress Genesis Rodriguez has been forced to bow out of plans to star in new Kevin James comedy True Memoirs Of An International Assassin after injuring herself during rehearsals.
The Big Hero 6 star had been cast as the female lead in the forthcoming Netflix film earlier this year (15), but she recently took to Instagram.com to reveal she will no longer feature in the picture.
Sharing a photo of herself in a neck brace, Rodriguez wrote, "It is with huge disappointment that I have to announce I got injured during rehearsals of True Memoirs and I can no longer continue...
"I wish the production and cast all the best! I will come back stronger and take all this kick a** knowledge to another project God willing. I am looking forward to watching this film soon! All my love -Gen".
The actress did not share any further details about her injuries, but the 28 year old had been undergoing fight training in preparation for her portrayal of a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent who rescues James' accountant character, who is mistaken for an assassin and flees to Belize, where he is taken captive by drug lords.
Zulay Henao has been cast as Rodriguez's replacement.
Kick-Ass 2 filmmaker Jeff Wadlow will direct True Memoirs of an International Assassin, which is set for release next year (16).
