Zach Galifianakis took a break from Hollywood to return to his humble roots as a bar boss in New York earlier this week (06May13).
The Hangover star worked as a night shift manager at the Stand Up NY comedy club in the Big Apple until four years ago, when he started to make it big in acting.
The club's owner Dani Zoldan reached out to her former employee on Twitter to see if he would come back for one night - and the funnyman agreed.
Writing on her Facebook.com, Zoldan explained, "Zach Galifianakis used to work at Stand Up NY as a night manager & I tweeted him as a joke if he can fill in 2night for a shift and he came in!!!
"Thanks Zach Galifianakis for the quick pop in last night to say hello! Come back again, we'd love to have you any time!"
Galifianakis spent some time chatting to workers at the bar, before taking in a show by the current crop of comedians who perform at the venue. However, he refused requests to take to the stage himself, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
