Rapper T.I. has taken customer service at his new Atlanta, Georgia restaurant into his own hands after personally calling clients to notify them of the venue's rescheduled opening date.
The Whatever You Like hitmaker and his wife, Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle, hosted a special event for Scales 925 on Saturday (28Mar15), when Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed had the honor of cutting the ribbon to signal the launch of the upscale eatery.
However, fans will have to wait a little longer to check out the venue for themselves.
At the bash, T.I. told guests, "We're honored to open the doors of our new home - a new home to the city. We really wanted to provide an environment and experience to the city that did not presently exist. Pardon our progress because it took just a tad bit longer than we wanted to reach completion, but I promise you that it will be well worth the wait."
"Continuing in the tradition of supporting and contributing to the city that I love so much - the city that we all call home - it is my honor to present the last look of Scales 925 before we open its doors... - and it took long enough."
The soul food restaurant, which occupies the space of the former Vibe Restaurant & Lounge, will now officially open to the public on 18 April (15) and this week (begs30Mar15), T.I. picked up the phone to alert customers with reservations to the change of date.
He shared a photo of himself manning the phones on Instagram.com and captioned the shot, "Da (sic) wait is almost over...never above doing a little customer service. Personally calling my Scales 925 customers to inform them of our rescheduled opening. A true king is never afraid to get his hands dirty...
"Thanx to each & all who support our vision & are patient enough to pardon our progress. I assure u the experience will be well worth da wait (sic)."
T.I. isn't the only hip-hop mogul to own a restaurant in Atlanta - he joins the likes of Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, and Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who have all launched their own eateries in the city.
