A judge has dismissed a lawsuit which targeted Sean 'Diddy' Combs over the name of one of his perfume brands.
The hip-hop star, who has a line of fragrances and aftershaves under his Sean John Clothing Company label, was sued by executives of a cosmetics company earlier this year (12) over claims he was infringing their trademark by calling one of his scents Empress.
Empress Haircare Products bosses alleged the star launched the product even though the name had already been trademarked, however, a judge in New York has now thrown the company's lawsuit out of court.
The case was dismissed with prejudice last Wednesday (03Oct12), which means it cannot be brought back to court - clearing the way for the rapper to continue using the name Empress, according to Allhiphop.com.
