British singer Sam Smith became a millionaire last year (14), according to financial records.
The Stay With Me star set up his company Sam Smith World Limited five months before he released his debut album In the Lonely Hour in May, 2014.
The success of the disc and its singles, which earned him Grammy and BRIT Awards this year (15), meant the company raked in $1.7 million in 2014, officially giving him millionaire status.
The amount is predicted to increase this year (15) due to his recent tour dates, the release of his James Bond theme song Writing's On The Wall, which went to number one in the U.K, and record-breaking sales of In the Lonely Hour.
Earlier in October (15), Sam earned a Guinness World Record for In The Lonely Hour after it racked up 69 consecutive weeks on the U.K. album chart, and he was given another certificate for becoming the first singer to reach the top spot on the U.K. singles chart with a Bond theme.
"This is so amazing! It's such an honor to be recognized by Guinness World Records," Sam said at the time. "It's been an unbelievable eighteen months - the album exceeded even my wildest dreams thanks to the incredible support of my fans, and to record the first ever Bond theme to reach number one in the U.K. is a real privilege."
Sam has already written four tracks for his follow-up album, and has been surprised how well the process is going.
"I genuinely thought this was going to be the hardest album - it still could be - but I refuse to think like that because this is what I do and what I love to do," he told BBC Radio 1.
