Ryan Gosling has paid tribute to a young man who created a viral video based on the actor's film clips.
Ryan McHenry became an online sensation when he created clips on video-sharing app Vine as part of a series called Ryan Gosling Won't Eat His Cereal, in which McHenry approaches a TV with a spoonful of cereal while parts of Gosling's films play to show his distaste for the breakfast snack.
Gosling was aware of the series and contacted McHenry on Twitter.com earlier this year (15), and he has now paid tribute to the online star after McHenry died on Sunday (03May15) following a battle with bone cancer, aged 27.
The Drive actor set up a Vine account on Monday (04May15) and posted a video of him raising a spoonful of cereal in a salute to McHenry before eating it.
Afterwards he wrote on Twitter.com, "My heart goes out to all of Ryan McHenry's family and friends. Feel very lucky to have been apart (sic) of his life in some small way."
