Music producer Mark Ronson agreed to pen a soundtrack for a ballet after he was moved to tears by a dancer's emotion-packed routine.
The British DJ is teaming up with choreographer Wayne McGregor for a new project in his native country, and he took a tour of the Royal Opera House in London to get a feel for the art form.
And Ronson realized the emotional appeal of ballet performances after he broke down in tears watching a prima ballerina rehearse.
He tells The Independent, "I'd never really watched any modern dance and there was something about the ultra-jagged movements of this girl that was dancing; it was almost like an Edward Gorey flip-book or something. Just the way the movement was, and I don't know why but I just started crying in this rehearsal room. It was super-powerful, and I didn't really think too long before I agreed to do it."
