Rita Ora will be "forever grateful" to Adidas for helping to build her own brand.
The Hot Right Now singer recently marked the end of her three-year partnership with the sports giant by hosting a dinner in London, where she spoke of how the company has helped clarify her own future.
Revealing she plans to launch her own label soon enough, Rita told WWD: "This collaboration has expanded my personal brand. It’s stretched my name out into countries I never even knew I could be in so, you know, so I’m forever grateful for that.
"We’ve already been working on my new line, doing bits over the last few years, but it takes a few months to build it up properly, probably about another year."
And it seems she’s keen to take Adidas along for the ride, insisting that after spending so long collaborating with the business on 15 collections that she couldn’t "just leave it". She may not be designing gear for Adidas anymore, but she hinted more things are to come.
"It’s the beginning of something else, the beginning of our new relationship," she smiled. "I’ve been working with Adidas for three years, and I have learned a lot about them and about branding, and the collaboration has led me to great ventures coming in the New Year."
As well as giving attention to her own empire Rita has been focusing on adding more films to her resume after stints in Fifty Shades of Grey and Southpaw. She’ll appear in the sequel to the raunchy movie, Fifty Shades Darker, and is also currently filming fantasy flick Wonderwell opposite a big name.
"This is my first proper lead role, and I play alongside Carrie Fisher, who is incredible," Rita gushed. "I play a bad witch and Carrie is the good witch. It’s fantasy meets greed. I run a town, she runs a forest; I’m all about the power. I want lots of power – and everything that comes into this city in Italy – but I’m not getting it, because of these kids that have a lot of control."
