Prince Royce will receive the Inspira Award at the Hispanic Heritage Awards later this week (begs19Sep16).
The Back It Up singer will be recognized for being a role model to young people, according to Billboard.
"Royce represents the important voice our community has in this great country, especially for youth," a statement from Hispanic Heritage Foundation president and CEO Jose Antonio Tijerino reads. "He is an embodiment of our Latinos On Fast Track (LOFT) initiative which is dynamic, powerful and proud like Royce's music.
"The Hispanic community has made significant contributions throughout history, and we are proud to recognize that impact in the past, present and future."
The 27-year-old has also been named a spokesperson for the HHF's youth programs.
The prizegiving event will take place on Thursday (22Sep16) in Washington, D.C.
