Paris Hilton is reportedly pitching an "unflinching" documentary of her life in Cannes.
The Simple Life star who made millions after launching herself as a reality television star is producing the authorised documentary which is being launched at the Cannes Film Festival, according to editors at The Hollywood Reporter. 9.14 Pictures and XYZ Films will announce the as yet untitled documentary which aims to give an insight into the life of the "businesswoman, entrepreneur and media icon" at Cannes on Wednesday (11May16).
Documentary maker Don Argott and film producer Sheena Joyce will direct the project, with production slated to begin in Ibiza at the end of summer.
"Paris Hilton is a modern day Marilyn Monroe - beautiful, iconised, world famous, shaped by mass media, and misunderstood," Argott and Joyce said in a statement.
"We are thrilled to work with Paris to explore her complicated relationship with the public, the press, and the politics that shape our perception of a modern celebrity."
Heiress Paris has been a mainstay of the reality genre in shows The Simple Life and Paris Hilton's My New BFF. Her documentary promises even more access to her life, and an in-depth discussion of the release of her sex tape One Night in Paris, in 2004, which, like former friend Kim Kardashian, made her famous.
The film will also see her reflect on how living life in the spotlight has contributed to the person she is and examine the impact her image has made on young women today.
Paris successfully used her celebrity to build an alleged fortune of $1.5 billion, easily dwarfing old pal Kim's reported $85 million net worth. Paris has launched 19 perfumes, and 50 shops and also moonlights at a DJ in Ibiza.
