Singer Nick Jonas has signed on to join Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland in the movie adaptation of top young adult novel Chaos Walking.
The Jealous hitmaker will play soldier Davy Prentiss Jr. in the film, which is based on Patrick Ness' hit book. The film takes place on a colony planet, where almost all the women have been killed off by a virus. Every surviving human on the planet is inflicted by The Noise virus, which creates immersive visions of thoughts.
However, Holland's character makes a profound discovery that Ridley's character is a key to unlocking many secrets of the planet, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will be directed by Doug Liman and also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Demian Bichir, and Kurt Sutter. It is set to hit theaters in March, 2019.
Nick has been ramping up his acting resume and will next appear in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle alongside Kevin Hart and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. He also starred in TV drama Kingdom, which ended after its third season earlier this month (Aug17), and previously appeared on the shows Scream Queens, Hawaii Five-0, and Smash.
On the music side, Jonas is gearing up to hit the high seas later this year (Nov17) and perform his first concerts on cruise ships - he will hit the stage on the Carnival Victory and Carnival Liberty as part of the Carnival LIVE Concert Series. Nick will perform on the ships while they are docked in Nassau, Bahamas on 17 and 18 November (17).
"This will be my first time performing on a cruise ship, which I'm really excited about because it's so different than any other venue," Jonas said. "I'm looking forward to seeing and performing for my fans that will be there."
