Cheryl has reportedly been offered $644,000 to join Simon Cowell for the Judges' Houses segment of U.K. reality show The X Factor.
The new mother, who welcomed baby son Bear with partner Liam Payne in March (17), acted as a judge on the British TV talent show between 2008 and 2010 and again in 2014 and 2015. And now it has been claimed she's been given a money-making opportunity of returning to the series on this year's season.
She wouldn't be coming back as a judge though - instead helping music mogul Simon decide which contestants can progress to the programme's live finals.
"Simon wants to pull out all the stops for this year’s show, and bagging Cheryl’s long-awaited return to telly would be one of his top wishes," a source told Britain's heat magazine. "It would be telly gold."
A show insider added to the publication: "Nothing’s decided yet, but bosses are very fond of Cheryl and when she’s ready to do something, of course we’d be interested."
Cheryl's representative declined to comment on the report, while a spokesperson for The X Factor called it "very premature speculation".
Simon, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger are the judges on this year's series, while U.K. singer Alesha Dixon has stepped in to cover for Sharon and Nicole while they've been kept busy with other work commitments.
The claims about a potential X Factor return for Cheryl comes after Simon admitted earlier this year that he predicted he and the ex Girls Aloud star would work together again in the future.
"We still have a really good relationship and I think at some point we'll probably end up working together again soon," he told The Sun.
