Actress Natalie Portman's husband Benjamin Millepied is in the process of converting to the Jewish faith of his wife.
The Oscar winner and her French choreographer beau are currently in Tel Aviv, Israel as she casts roles for her directorial debut, an adaptation of Amos Oz's novel A Tale of Love and Darkness, and during their visit, Millepied revealed he has been making big steps to follow the same religion as his wife.
In an interview with Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth on Wednesday (29Jan14), Millepied revealed that the Jewish faith is "very important to him", adding he is "in the middle of the conversion process."
He adds, "I hope that soon it will come to an end and I will become a Jew."
Portman, who was born in Jerusalem, married her Black Swan choreographer in a private Jewish ceremony in 2012, and the pair will be moving to Paris later this year (14), with son Aleph, when Millepied takes on his new position as the director of dance at the Paris Opera Ballet.
Meanwhile, Millepied reveals he has "fallen in love with" Israel, and hopes to make his wife's homeland the family's "second home".
