Clare Bowen is "really excited" about rumors of a Nashville television comeback.
The 32-year-old actress found fame playing Scarlett O' Connor in the hit country music drama, which also starred Hayden Panettiere and Connie Britton as frequently feuding country singers. Fans were left devastated when ABC made the decision to cancel the series after four seasons, but it has since been claimed it could be returning on a different network - with CMT, America's top country music TV network, currently the reported favorite to land the show.
“I’ve been seeing all sorts of things flying around and it’s really encouraging,” Clare told Entertainment Tonight as she attended the CMT (Country Music Television) Awards on Wednesday night (08Jun16). "I don’t know more than you do, but I’m really excited for whatever happens."
CMT obviously has a strong link to the country music world, and the Australian actress thinks it could be a good place to properly showcase all the important aspects of the show.
"I mean, it’s a wonderful show," she continued. "As long as it represents Nashville, the city, as what it actually is, that’s the most important thing. That it’s not just a television show. This is a place where country music history was born, so it’s important."
News of Nashville's cancellation last month (May16), came hours after 26-year-old Hayden announced she was planning to return to rehab to seek further help in her battle with postpartum depression.
The actress and singer released a statement which read: "Rather than stay stuck due to unhealthy coping mechanisms I have chosen to take time to reflect holistically on my health and life. Wish me luck!"
The Heroes actress, whose character on the show also battled postpartum depression, welcomed her first child with fiance Wladimir Klitschko in 2014. Hayden first admitted herself to rehab in October (15), but last month it became clear she was still struggling with the condition.
