Singer/actress Miranda Cosgrove has moved back in with her parents because she doesn't like to live alone.
The former child star, 22, bought her own property before she enrolled at the University of Southern California (USC) in 2012, but the iCarly actress confesses she prefers to stay with her mom and dad because she loves the company.
Her real life mirrors the plot of her new TV sitcom, Crowded, in which she and co-star Mia Serafino portray sisters who move back home after college, and she admits the similarities were what initially drew her to the project.
"I can definitely relate to it because I live with my parents," she told breakfast show Today. "I'm going to USC.
"I like it obviously, but I have my own place too, but I spend most of my time at my parents' house," she continued. "My mom does my laundry, there's always someone there to watch TV with me; I just like being around my parents!"
She added, "My parents are a big help for sure. I really do like spending a lot of time with them, and I always know I've got somebody to go to."
Miranda also credits her parents with teaching her the importance of further education from a young age, and she is grateful to have the opportunity to continue her acting dreams while also studying film at college.
"I started acting when I was pretty little, like, three or four, and... my mom was like, 'Oh, you can save up money for college...' so it was kind of always my goal," she explained. "And then I ended up loving acting so much, and that's what I wanna do, but I still wanna go to college."
The star admits she has managed to keep a low profile for the most part while studying at USC, although she did have to come clean about her celebrity to one study partner.
"I was actually friends with a girl, we were in a study group together, and she was like, 'You look so much like the girl from iCarly!'" she recalled. "I was like, 'Yeah, I am, that's me! That's why!'"
