Actress Michelle Williams has opened up for the first time about her boyfriend Jason Segel, insisting the only bad thing about him is his considerable height.
The fiercely-private couple was first photographed together last March (12) following a New York dinner date and the stars went public with their relationship a month later (Apr12) at the Big Apple afterparty for Segel's comedy The Five-Year Engagement.
The pair has never publicly commented on the romance, but in a new interview with InStyle magazine, the Brokeback Mountain actress has finally broken her silence on her man.
She gushes, "He is nice... I didn't actually realize who he was before I started dating him. I mean, I saw the Muppets movie, and I thought, 'Oh, that's cute,' but the truth is I didn't realize he made a lot of very popular, funny movies or was on a TV show. But maybe more important, I didn't realize he was so tall.
"I thought, 'Hey, man, you're cramping my style!' I tried wearing wedge heels for a while to compensate, but it wasn't me and I just gave up."
Williams, who has a daughter from her relationship with late ex Heath Ledger, and Segel are currently one of Hollywood's favorite couples, and the 32 year old admits it feels good to have the public's support.
She adds, "In my head, the opposite is often true - that people fault or blame you for things. That's really painful. You wish they would just want you to be happy, for your kid to be happy, and for you to have a good life and do good work. Any kind sentiment that the world can feed back, well, I won't turn it down."
And she confesses she hasn't been as happy as she is in a long time: "The other day I was out there (walking around) all bundled up and the sun was shining and I realized I was smiling in a way I hadn't in a long time. The roses in my cheeks weren't from makeup for once. It was a perfect moment."
