Mary J. Blige and Maxwell have teamed up for the King and Queen of Hearts Tour.
The soulful pair will hit 34 venues in Europe and the U.S., beginning with a gig in Frankfurt, Germany on 15 October (16).
The duo will also perform in Paris, Stockholm, Amsterdam, London, and Manchester, England, before wrapping up the tour in America with a run of shows that begin in Baltimore, Maryland on 5 November (16).
Announcing the tour, Blige says, "Maxwell is a man that we need as women. He sings from his heart and soul with an amazing voice.
"When you hear him, you feel comforted, good, sexy, sly. You feel like you want to go out with your girls and then you also feel like you want to lay up with your man. He just gives you that freedom as a woman to be all those sexy, empowering and beautiful things. Women need to feel like there's some man out there that really cares and will speak to them through song."
Meanwhile, Maxwell calls the tour "a bucket list situation for me", adding it's something "we've been trying to bring together because our audiences are each other's".
"This is a celebration of New York, R&B/soul music and the 90s," he explains.
Maxwell and Mary are also working together in the studio on a new song for her next album.
The tour is good news for the Family Affair singer, who recently split from her husband Kendu Isaacs. The No More Drama hitmaker, who wed Isaacs in 2003, filed divorce papers citing irreconcilable differences in July (16)
According to TMZ.com, the singer listed the date of separation on the court documents as "to be determined". Rumours of a pending divorce had been swirling around the couple for months.
