One Direction star Louis Tomlinson shocked the audience of a U.K. chat show by throwing his cell phone across a TV studio during an interview.
The awkward moment came during a recording of the British comedian Alan Carr's Chatty Man TV show after Louis' phone began to ring.
The pop star reacted to the interruption by throwing the device away, leaving the host scrambling to pick it up, according to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper.
Louis later attempted to explain away the incident by insisting the phone was already damaged and he thought it may have been an embarrassing call from his mother.
"It will be my mom and she will be really embarrassing. It was already cracked," he declared.
The group will be going on hiatus after they finish promoting their new album Made in The A.M., and during the interview, Louis and his bandmate Liam Payne admitted they are looking forward to taking some time off.
"We just felt like it was the right time to go and chill for a bit and not have our lives planned out and scheduled," Liam said, and Louis added, "Yeah I think we are all on the same page. We know how intense it's been and could do with a little break."
One Direction's final performance before the split is scheduled to be on the British TV show which launched them to stardom, The X Factor.
The band is slated to appear as guests during the show's live final on Sunday (13Dec15).
