Lil Wayne is in "stable condition and good spirits" after suffering a minor seizure on Monday (13Jun16).
The 33-year-old rapper's private jet was forced to make an emergency landing, according to TMZ.com, shortly after take off from Wisconsin en route to California on Monday afternoon. The musician was due to appear at the E3 conference in Los Angeles on Monday, in order to promote his new Sqvad Up mobile game.
Reports suggest Wayne blacked out as soon as the plane landed in Omaha, Nebraska, and paramedics dashed to the airfield.
Sources tell TMZ the rap star quickly regained consciousness and refused medical treatment, but suffered a second seizure as the plane prepared for take off again.
A representative for the star has confirmed he suffered a "minor" seizure, but insisted he is now doing well following the medical incident.
"Under the guidance of his own doctors, he is now in stable condition and good spirits. He thanks his fans for their everlasting support, prayers and well wishes," the spokesperson said in a statement.
It's not the first time something like this has happened; Wayne suffered a pair of dramatic health scares in October 2012, after experiencing seizure-like episodes on two flights, which were both grounded so he could be taken to hospital.
The Lollipop star revealed he is taking pills to prevent a relapse, and is also required to stay well hydrated. He told MTV News, "They said I gotta drink four water bottles a day, that's what the doctors say."
He also suffered a near-fatal seizure in March 2013, and was placed in a medically induced coma in the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The health scare subsequently prompted Wayne to go public with his epilepsy diagnosis, explaining his seizures come with "no warning, no nothing," adding to MTV, "I don't feel sick."
