Actor Liam Hemsworth is doing everything in his power to prevent his romance with Miley Cyrus from becoming complicated.
The 26-year-old The Hunger Games star and the 23-year-old Wrecking Ball singer called off their engagement in 2013, but the pair reignited the romance late last year (15).
Asked about the status of his love life during a recent appearance on Entertainment Tonight Liam revealed the couple is "happy" with the way things are going right now, but he has learned to keep his mouth shut in public to keep the peace at home.
"I just find it's easier to not talk about my personal life because usually I say the wrong thing, so it ends up just complicating things more," he confessed. "So, I feel like it's better not to talk about it."
The couple's happy home life has been made even more delightful by their mutual love of pets, with Miley having helped Liam adopt his new dog, Dora, last November (15) from Los Angeles-based animal adoption service Wylder's Holistic Pet Center and Rescue.
He named the new pet in honour of his seven nieces and nephews' favourite kids cartoon character, Dora the Explorer!
"My brothers' kids are a big fan of the show (sic), so it (name) was definitely inspired by that," he gushed.
But it's not all perfection among the pets - Miley has been in mourning over her late pooch Floyd, who passed away on 2 April, 2014. Marking what would have been the dog's fifth birthday, she took to Instagram on Thursday (05May16) to pay her respects, writing: "My dearest Floyd, i am sending you so much love and happiness on this very special day... The day you were born.
"Weirdly enough I woke up very sick and stuck in bed... Heart break often comes with flu like symptoms. I miss you desperately and I wish with all my heart that your 5th birthday could be spent here in bed with me.... Mommy loves loves loves you and all your baby brothers and sisters wish you a #happybirthdayfloyd (sic)".
