Singer/actress Leona Lewis is set to take her final bow at the Broadway revival of Cats next month (Oct16).
The Bleeding Love singer made her debut on the Great White Way in the classic musical in July (16), but she announced on Tuesday (13Sep16) she will be leaving her post as Grizabella on 9 October (16).
Leona took to Twitter to post a photo of her in her cat costume, adding the caption, "Wow can't believe less than a month til I leave NY, time has flown by, I'll miss my @CatsBroadway family like crazy!"
A replacement for Leona has yet to be revealed, but the British star was never originally slated to star in production - she was drafted in to portray Grizabella after Nicole Scherzinger dropped out of the Broadway production following her stint in the London revival.
When Cats opened at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York this summer (16), Leona received less-than-glowing reviews for her performance. While many critics praised the X Factor UK winner's singing skills, they were unimpressed by her acting ability and many observed that she failed to lose her perfect pop star look to convincingly play the old, downtrodden feline.
