Singer/actress Leann Rimes is developing a new sitcom based on her marriage to Eddie Cibrian in a bid to give fans a real look into their private lives.
The couple was recently reported to be pitching a TV series to network executives based on their life together and now the Blue hitmaker has confirmed the news.
She tells People.com, "We're doing a TV show based on our reality. We'll take things out of our lives and elaborate them and make them funny. People have been laughing at us - we want them to laugh with us!
"For some reason, everyone is so interested in our lives but they don't actually know about them. What they read is what they see. We want to be able to take control of our lives again so we want to do a show about us, about our lives, but scripted."
Rimes admits there is another reason the couple is keen to land a deal for the project - they would love to work together again.
They notoriously met and fell for one another while shooting TV movie Northern Lights in 2008. The affair ended Rimes' marriage to dancer Dean Sheremet and Cibrian's to reality TV star Brandi Glanville, and the lovers wed in 2011.
Glanville, who has endured a bitter relationship with her love rival ever since the affair was made public, has already expressed her casting wish for the sitcom if it gets picked up - she wants Charlie Sheen's ex-wife Denise Richards to portray her onscreen.
She said, "She's been through similar situations... and she's hot!"
