Lady Gaga has met another idol after joining His Holiness the Dalai Lama at an event in Indianapolis on Sunday (26Jun16).
The Poker Face star, who was rumored to be a top secret performer at the weekend's Glastonbury festival in England, teamed up with the Buddhist leader at the Conference of Mayors, where she talked about the importance of compassion across America following the recent Orlando, Florida nightclub massacre.
During her keynote address speech, Gaga told city representatives, "Kindness is a free currency from a well that will never dry up."
She left her wilder costumes at home and showed up at the event in white trousers and a flowing white blouse covering up her arms and shoulders - a nod to the fact she would be meeting one of the world's most religious men.
She shared photos of her meeting with the Dalai Lama and in one shot she appears to be overcome with emotion as she rests her head on the Tibetan leader's chest.
The conference date and her meeting with the Dalai Lama forced the Poker Face singer to scrap plans to perform with Mark Ronson at Glastonbury.
The Uptown Funk producer has confirmed the two pals had been planning to team up onstage with Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker, but they couldn't fit it into her schedule.
"She was going to come but she had to go and meet the Dalai Lama or something crazy," Mark told Britain's Sun on Sunday newspaper.
