Lady Gaga became so emotional as she accepted her first acting prize at Sunday's (10Jan16) Golden Globe Awards, she forgot to thank her fiance.
The pop superstar was named Best Actress in a Mini-series or TV Movie for her starring role in TV series American Horror Story: Hotel, beating Kirsten Dunst (Fargo), Felicity Huffman (American Crime), Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone), and Queen Latifah (Bessie) to land the award.
"I feel like Cher in the John Patrick Shanley film, Moonstruck, right now," an overwhelmed Gaga gushed after slowly making her way to the stage. "It's one of the greatest moments of my life. I have to thank Ryan Murphy, you're just a wonderful human being; you have believed in me so much and have been such a beautiful friend to me. Thank you to my wonderful cast, I love you guys so much, you're my family forever.
"I have to thank Matt Bomer and Denis O'Hare, and Angela Bassett and Cheyenne Jackson, Finn Wittrock, Chloe Sevigny, Evan Peters... I could go though the entire cast because you're all so talented, and because of you, I was able to shine, I guess. So thank you for sharing your talent with me. I wanted to be an actress before I wanted to be a singer but music worked out first."
Gaga went on to thank her mom, dad, and sister, but she failed to mention her actor fiance Taylor Kinney, who had accompanied her to the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
Fellow singer Sam Smith also had reason to celebrate as he claimed the Best Original Song honor for his Spectre theme tune Writing's on the Wall, from the latest movie in the James Bond franchise.
Accepting the prize from Katy Perry, a delighted Sam admitted it was the "best night of my life", and said, "Honestly on a real level, I genuinely didn't think we were gonna get this, so thank you guys."
