Married actors Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard are constantly trying to out do one another by staging surprise visits whenever they have to work on location.
The stars are known for their competitive nature, and they love nothing more than getting the better of each other whenever possible.
The couple appeared for a joint interview on talk show The View on Thursday (23Mar17), when Kristen recalled having to leave their Los Angeles home to shoot a movie in Alaska.
"I couldn't go visit because of my Parenthood schedule," Dax explained, "but then something freed up so I got a ticket next to her on the airplane (to Alaska), and I sweet-talked the gate agent so I got on before, and I held a newspaper up (to cover his face), and I was in her seat, so she's like, 'Excuse me sir...'"
Kristen continued, "I was so sad (to travel alone). I said, 'Excuse me, I think this is my seat,' and then he pulls it (newspaper) down, and I was like (burst into tears of joy)."
However, while their efforts are usually deemed romantic by friends and family, Kristen admits they tend to keep the antics up because they just want to win.
"To be honest, it's more about the competition than the romance," she confessed. "'Oh, you surprised me? Well, let me look at my date book and see when I'm available to get you back!'"
The actors, who co-star in the new film adaptation of hit TV show CHiPs, have been married since 2013 and are parents to young daughters Lincoln and Delta.
