Kim Kardashian is taking some "much needed time off" following an armed robbery earlier this month (Oct16).
The 35-year-old reality star was "badly shaken" after being bound, gagged and held at gunpoint by a group of five masked men who broke into her private apartment in Paris, France on 3 October (16) and made off with millions of dollars worth of jewelry and cell phones.
Sources close to the mother-of-two said following the terrifying incident that she had made the decision to be less visible on social media, after claims her flaunting of her huge diamond ring on Snapchat the day before the robbery may have fueled the thieves' motivation.
Now Kim's assistant Stephanie Sheppard has posted a handwritten note on her boss' official app, which fans pay for access to, explaining that she is taking a break from the Internet.
“Hey guys, so you may have noticed we haven’t updated the app in a couple weeks,” Stephanie wrote. “Keeks is taking some much needed time off."
However, Stephanie promised that Kim's nearest and dearest are banding together to take over her web duties while she recovers from her ordeal.
"But not to worry... we’ve called upon Kim’s closest friends, fam and yours truly to save up some exclusives," she added. "Stay tuned for new posts and app takeovers!! Thank you so much for your support for my girl. Love you mean it."
Kim has retreated to her Los Angeles mansion in the wake of the incident, seeking comfort from her closest friends and family members.
One person who has yet to properly speak to Kim and find out how she is doing is her stepbrother Brody Jenner.
Brody famously wasn't invited when Kim married Kanye West in 2014, and has had a fractured relationship with his sibling since then. However, he told Us Weekly that he has sent Kim a message to voice his support.
"I don't want to get too much into it, but I'll say I haven't talked to Kim; I've texted her to show my support and let her know I'm thinking of her. Other than that, I haven't spoken to her,” he said. “I wish her all the best, I really do."
