Khloe Kardashian and her estranged husband Lamar Odom's divorce is back on.
The 31-year-old reality star split from the former professional basketball player in December 2013, and divorce proceedings began in July, 2015, but the sportsman was found unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel and hospitalized last October (15), Khloe put the brakes on the legal part of their split and raced to be by his side as he recovered.
Khloe's lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed documents asking a judge to withdraw the divorce papers, and the request was granted.
But Wasser was back in a Los Angeles court on Thursday (26May16), refiling the divorce documents for her client, according to TMZ.com.
In the papers obtained by the outlet, Khloe cited irreconcilable differences, just as she did in the first divorce filing. Sources tell TMZ the amicable exes worked out a property settlement the first time around, and they had a pre-nuptial agreement in place as well.
The former couple will now have to wait six months before the divorce can be finalized.
Ever since Lamar's health scare, the two have remained close, and Khloe is still upset about her failed marriage, insisting recently she still doesn't like the word divorce.
In an essay for Lena Dunham's Lenny Letter, Khloe wrote, "I've been blessed with a lot in my life, and I've also had challenges. It was a challenge for me when I decided to get divorced. At my core, I don't believe in divorce, but I came to a point in my marriage where I had to make the choice to take care of my own mental and emotional well-being in order to protect myself and my happiness."
But Khloe is still open to the idea of remarrying Lamar in the future - in a recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, she discussed the possibility or a second go at marriage while traveling with Lamar, mom Kris Jenner, and other members of her famous family. She said, "We're we're definitely getting out of this marriage because it's been a little tainted."
