Kesha is donating proceeds from an upcoming concert to help victims of the nightclub massacre in Orlando, Florida.
The Tik Tok hitmaker announced on Tuesday (19Jul16) that she will be returning to the road to play a string of live dates in the coming weeks, as she continues her legal battle with her former mentor and producer Dr. Luke, who she has accused of physical and emotional abuse.
"i'm going on tour this summer!!!!!" the 29-year-old wrote in her Twitter.com post, adding, "deets (details) coming soon!"
The message was accompanied by an Instagram video clip, in which she said, "Hi, guys! You coming to hang this summer with us? We're going on tour...! Will I see you guys there? It's gonna be f**king crazy."
Now Kesha has revealed she wants to use some of the proceeds from the trek in a positive way and will donate part of the funds from her upcoming gig at Harrah's Atlantic City Resort on 6 August (16) to the Pulse Tragedy Community Fund. The charity provides support to survivors and the families of victims killed last month (Jun16), when a gunman opened fire in gay club Pulse, claiming the lives of 49 people.
"We have come a long way with the equal rights movement but we have so much more work to do," reads a press release from the singer. "I'll never stop fighting for people who just want to be able to express themselves freely for who they are."
"We are proud to host an artist like Kesha who shares our same passion and support for the LGBT community," adds Rick Mazer, president of Harrah's Resort Atlantic City. "It's important that we join forces in times of tragedy to offer help to those in need."
