Kelsea Ballerini's new fiance Morgan Evans is poised to give the country star a little friendly competition after inking his own record deal with Warner Music Nashville.
The Australian singer/songwriter relocated to the U.S. earlier this year (17), weeks after proposing to Kelsea at Christmas (Dec16), with plans to establish his own career in America.
Now Morgan is one step closer to achieving his dream after signing to the Nashville imprint of Warner Music, which he had previously been signed to Down Under.
He shared the news in a post on Facebook on Tuesday (16May17), writing, "I JUST SIGNED A U.S. RECORD DEAL! So stoked to be a part of the Warner Music Nashville family!"
To celebrate I decided to do a mash-up of my favorite Warner Nashville songs!" he added, alongside a video of himself performing a medley of the label's hits. "Check out my take on Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell & Dan + Shay and let me know what you think?!?!"
Evans will have no problem finding his own fan base in America if his previous music success is anything to go by. He released his first studio album in Australia in 2014 and scored a handful of hits, even earning the Country Music Association's Global Artist Award in 2015, reports TheBoot.com.
Kelsea, who met Morgan while hosting the CMC Awards in Brisbane with him last year (Mar16), has already snagged her fiance for a secret duet on her upcoming sophomore album.
Discussing the collaboration in February (17), she told Entertainment Tonight, "He just sang on it. It's gonna be on the record, and it's cheesy and I like it... I think it's gonna end up being the album title, so I'm holding all that."
