Kelly Rowland has been inspired by model Iman to launch a brand new cosmetics range.
The Grammy Award winning singer revealed that her new venture will be designed for all women, but will ensure women with darker skin tones are well catered for.
Speaking with Essence.com at a charity event (21Mar16) the star revealed the range will cater for all women, but focus on products which work best with darker skin tones.
"My makeup artist Sheika Daley and I are actually starting a makeup line we’re making sure we make, well, we’re starting off with lashes and then we’re going to have it grow for all women," Kelly told the magazine.
"But definitely making sure we have our chocolate girls covered. Gotta get the chocolate girls in there! We have to have that, you know."
Taking model Iman's successful make-up line as her inspiration the former Destiny's Child star believes there's space in the market for a new range. "I think Iman has done a beautiful makeup line and I want to do it too!" she gushed Kelly, who was attending the Claritin sponsored The Boys and Girls Club event to promote better outdoor spaces for kids.
Kelly was recently recruited by Michelle Obama to appear on her charity song This is For My Girls. Speaking to Billboard.com, she recalled how she was recruited by award-winning songwriter Diane Warren, and Kelly said she needed little convincing.
"Diane Warren actually called me, told me exactly what it was for and I was like, "I’m in." It was just that simple. I love Diane Warren. I am a huge, huge Michelle Obama supporter. If she sneezes on something, I want to be right there for it ‘cause I feel like she’s just a woman of purpose, intelligence, who stands by her word, and she’s just amazing. She’s right up there with God," she laughed.
Kelly, who is a mother to son Titan, 16 months, is set to releases her fifth, as yet untitled, studio album later this year (16).
