Katy Perry's new album will feature a song about her love life.
The Roar singer, who was brought up in a strict Christian household, is set to test her minister dad and the rest of her family with a naughty new song about her intimate moments with boyfriend Orlando Bloom.
Admitting she used to struggle to write "super sexy songs", Katy told radio host Elvis Duran, "The other day I was like, 'I'm going to write a song about sex!' I did it, and I think it's really great, because I still have sex and I like to write about all my life experiences!"
The 31-year-old also revealed she's in the middle of recording new tracks for her follow-up to 2013's Prism and told Elvis she needed the time off to live a little so she could find new inspiration for her songwriting.
"For me, it takes a bit of time to (write) because I have to have those experiences and then write about them," she explained during the chat on Wednesday morning (24Aug16). "Or I have to digest whatever I'm seeing or perceiving and recycle it and kind of give my perspective on it."
And Perry tells fans she's working with "a lot of unexpected writers and producers" on her new music, adding they are "bringing out a lot of different things, sonically".
She also gave Panda Express a big plug, revealing the Chinese fast food chain's orange chicken keeps her going in the studio: "I've been eating really well for breakfast and lunch but I'm like, 'Oh, that orange chicken glaze!'"
She'll even jump in her car and drive to pick up a late-night treat, adding, "I drive myself everywhere, I'm pretty normal."
