Katy Perry surprised fans in New York on Friday (28Apr17) by handing out cherry pies.
The Roar hitmaker served up the dessert from a colorful food truck which was parked up in the middle of Times Square, with the stunt designed to promote her new single Bon Appetit, which features hip-hop trio Migos.
Katy, who was wearing a gingham crop top and bright blue trousers, handed out the pies herself, pausing to take pictures with stunned visitors.
The 32-year-old later thanked the New York Police Department officers who had helped control the event, and gave a shout out to fans who had queued for a piece of cherry pie.
"Thank you so much for coming out!" she yelled.
She also shared snaps of her pie truck on Instagram on Friday, telling her followers, "I'M OPEN 24".
Earlier, Katy posted a photo from her recent visit to the BuzzFeed offices in New York, where she made a cherry pie for staff at the media company's Tasty brand.
"No, seriously. This song is about cherry pie," she captioned the shot, referring to the feedback of online critics who've noted that the lyrics in her new track are very suggestive.
"Wanna keep you satisfied / Customer's always right /Hope you've got some room /For the world's best cherry pie," sings Katy during the song.
The star also shared a detailed recipe for cherry pie with her fans in the form of an email on Monday (24Apr17).
