Actress Kate Hudson likes to "get weird" and dance around in a locked room to stay fit.
The 36-year-old is famous for her fabulously toned physique, which she credits to a love of dance as well as a healthy diet, but when it comes to getting her groove on, Kate doesn't always do it in a formal dance class.
"Sometimes I’ll lock myself in a room and dance," she told Self magazine. "I’ll turn music on as loud as possible and just get weird."
While Kate cares about what she looks like and how she feels, she doesn't think its right for women to put so much pressure on themselves to be a certain dress size or weight.
"We’ve been programmed to feel like we’re under this great obligation as women to look and be a certain way," she explained. "And that’s not our fault. That’s what culture and society have gifted us as women. Thank you but no thank you.”
Instead, the Almost Famous star believes its important for women to understand their own "individual likes", and not to be too strict with their exercise regime.
"Don’t beat yourself up,” she said. “Throw that idea of ‘I have to, I have to, I have to’ out the window.”
As for her diet, Kate told the outlet she eats a mostly meat-free diet full of unprocessed, plant-based foods.
The actress recently revealed she also follows an alkaline plan, which focuses on balancing pH levels and acidity.
"I live by a rule book of eating alkaline - no meat, no dairy, no gluten (and) I try to stay away from sugar - but I'll cheat when I want to, since I'm a bit of a foodie," she told People magazine. "I try not to make it not so much about dieting, but rather everything in moderation."
