Rapper Kanye West has promised fans he fights for the rights of dreamers after scoring another huge fashion win.
The 38-year-old musician hosted a temporary clothing sale in New York City from 18-20 March (16), calling the retail event the Pablo Pop-Up shop, and according to him the affair was tremendously successful.
"they called me crazy and pointed fingers (sic)," he tweeted on Tuesday (22Mar16). "but there is no other brand that could sell 1 million dollars of clothing in 2 days from 1 location!!!"
Although Kanye has premiered several fashion collections in the past, most recently unveiling his third Yeezy collaboration with sportswear line Adidas at New York Fashion Week last month (Feb16), he has been dissed by many critics who discredit his talent as a clothing designer.
So his latest victory in the rag trade is particularly special for the star, who also released his seventh studio album entitled The Life of Pablo around the time he held his runway show for the latest Adidas collection.
In Kanye's mind, his creative expression is doing the world a great service.
Speaking about both his album and the pop-up shop, he wrote in a series of tweets: "This is the people the culture the dreams the future. I promise I will never let the people down. I want a better life for all!!! Pablo Pablo Pablo Pablo! I stand with the utmost humility. We are so blessed!!! All praises and blessings to the families of people who never gave up on dreams".
"I represent the dreamers," he added. "And I promise the power is in the people and I will use the power given by the people to bring everything I have back to the people. We are here to make life better."
