Rapper Kanye West has been sentenced to serve 250 hours of community service, attend anger management classes and stay away from paparazzo Daniel Ramos after pleading no contest to misdemeanour battery against the photographer on Monday (17Mar14).
He was also placed on probation for two years following his clash with Ramos at Los Angeles International Airport last summer (Jul13).
West did not attend the hearing on Monday afternoon and made the plea through his attorney Blair Berk.
Ramos addressed the court and told judge Alan Rubin his altercation with West had left him with pain in his "right hip area" and the tussle had scarred him "mentally and emotionally".
He also told Judge Rubin that he feared West would "retaliate on me".
Ramos added, "He needs to be stopped or he'll hurt someone else."
The judge also ordered the rapper to pay all mandatory court costs and "make restitution to any victims".
A restitution hearing has been set for 17 July (14).
Meanwhile, Ramos has a civil action against West pending.
The snapper maintains the rap star punched him in an unprovoked attack and wrestled his camera to the ground during the scuffle.
