Justin Bieber called out a hat-throwing fan for interrupting his heartfelt speech during his concert on Friday (15Jul16).
The Sorry singer was in the middle of giving a speech to the audience in Atlantic City, New Jersey about having a purpose in life as an introduction to album title track Purpose when a fan threw a hat on stage, interrupting his train of thought, and Justin made it clear he was not impressed by the person ruining his heartfelt moment.
“The reason why it’s called the Purpose tour is because I feel like everybody in this building has a purpose," he said. "And maybe it’s not often that you speak about what your purpose may be or what your friend’s purpose may be… If we could take this moment to listen and try not to give me a hat or whatever you’re trying to throw on stage right now... I probably don’t want that s**t."
In the video footage, Justin appears to kick the hat from the stage before realizing he was a bit harsh seconds later. He added, “Sorry, that was mean."
"Now I lost what I was going to say,” he said. “I was deep into, like, a mode and a zone. I was in it. Now I’m out of it. I’ll get it back."
Justin continued his speech by candidly telling fans that he also has times where he wakes up in the morning and dreads the upcoming day so he surrounds himself with people who will help him get through it.
"I wanna say thank you to each and every one of you for helping me get through the days," he adds. "I'm here with you, doing this journey with you. I hope you guys are here with me."
As he introduces Purpose, he adds, “Sorry for throwing your hat, but you ruined the moment."
The North American leg of Justin's world tour concludes on Monday (18Jul16) and Tuesday (19Jul16) with a two-night stint at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden.
