Justin Bieber has apologized for swearing at reporters, claiming he was just doing an impression from Australian TV show Summer Heights High.
The Sorry singer, who is on tour Down Under, was caught on camera rudely telling reporters and paparazzi to leave him alone before making an obscene gesture when they attempted to chat to him as he relaxed on Richard Branson's heart-shaped Makepeace Island Resort, situated on the Noosa River in Queensland.
However, Justin has insisted it was just a misunderstanding and he wasn't having an outburst, he was simply imitating Jonah, a vulgar, disobedient Tongan student character in the Australian mockumentary comedy series.
"I said 'puck you' miss, there's a difference between bullying him and joking around. I was joking around," Justin said in Jonah's accent in a self-taped Instagram video, which was interspersed with typed questions.
Following one which asks if he will apologize, Justin adopts the Jonah persona for a series of quick clips in different locations. In one, he says "Sorry Ben", referring to the reporter, followed by a clip of him pretending to get ready to fight. In the next, he says "Sorry" with a sad, forlorn look on his face, before explaining, "I was doing it for fun. You just didn't get that it was fun."
However, he continued his mocking video by asking the newsreader who reported the outburst, "You on your period or what, Miss?", because she was angered by his original cursing.
After a typed sentence appears on screen stating the news team didn't find his joke amusing, he told them to watch more MTV, such as prank show Punk'd.
"I could tell them a Knock Knock joke and they wouldn't even think it was funny. I was punking him, sir. Watch MTV for once, sir," he teased.
During his Australian trip, Justin also threw a party on a boat in Melbourne and invited several women aboard, including Instagram model and married mother-of-one Kaysha Louise, according to MailOnline. The outlet reports the women were made to sign non-disclosure agreements and hand over their phones before joining the party.
The 23-year-old moves on to New Zealand after performing in Sydney on Wednesday night (15Mar17).
