Comedian Jimmy Fallon and his producer wife Nancy Juvonen turned to a surrogate mother to carry their newborn daughter after struggling to conceive for years.
The actor-turned-talk show host revealed on Friday (09Aug13) that he and his wife decided to look into other options when traditional methods failed them.
He tells breakfast show Today, "My wife and I had been trying for a while to have a baby. So we have tried a bunch of things and so we had a surrogate. This time we said, 'We're not telling anybody.' It would be just more fun, just private between me and my wife and then get to introduce her to everybody."
The stars were surprised when they found out their surrogate had fallen pregnant, but they faced a stressful time choosing who they should share the private news with.
He continues, "When it happened we were shocked. 'All right, who do we tell? Who is going to be mad at us?' We had to call everybody. It's so emotional."
Fallon and Juvonen became first-time parents to little Winnie Rose last month (Jul13).
