Jennifer Lopez starts and ends her day by meditating.
The busy superstar reveals she began practising the mind-calming technique last year (15) as she juggled performing at her Las Vegas residency, filming her police drama series Shades of Blue, and offering her advice to aspiring artists as a judge on American Idol - all while looking after her eight-year-old twins Max and Emme.
The method of relaxation proved vital for the singer/actress to keep her from becoming frazzled, and she has continued to meditate to help keep her mind and body at ease.
"Last year, I was doing all three things at that time. I took on meditation," the 46-year-old told People magazine.
"(Putting aside) 20 minutes a day in the morning and at night... was necessary," she explained. "It was almost like my brain, for the first time in my life, felt like, 'OK, you bit off more than you can chew'."
Each of her projects have proved to be huge successes and now she has found the perfect balance, J.Lo has no regrets about taking on so many jobs at once.
"I've always been a hard worker," she smiled. "To be at a point in my career where I've been in it for 20-something years and be getting the opportunities and me having a moment... where I get to, as an artist, do all the things that I love to do still and on the level that I'm doing them, all of it feels like such a blessing."
And Jennifer has no plans to slow down, despite her advancing years: "It's the fruits of your labour of trying to be a good person and trying to do the right thing and continuing to grow as an artist, as a human being," she continued. "It proves to me that it works. That's what I'm going to continue to do."
