Jennifer Lawrence's mother gave the actress a puppy to cheer her up at the height of her nude photo leak scandal.
The Hunger Games star became headline news last year (14) after hackers stole a number of intimate photos from her personal accounts and posted them online.
Jennifer admits she was devastated by the leak, which occurred while her mother was visiting from Kentucky with a new puppy, and her mum eventually gave her the dog to put a smile back on her face.
"I was outside crying, and Pippi (the puppy) jumped up on my lap and started licking up all my tears," she tells Vogue. "And I couldn't put her down for hours. And I mean, hours. I was like, 'Well, obviously, you're mine'."
The Oscar winner goes on to insist she tries not to think about the nude picture drama any more unless someone else starts a conversation about it.
"It was all pain and no gain," she says. "But I don't dwell on it unless someone brings it up. (I don't say) 'Have you seen me naked?'"
During the interview, Jennifer also opens up about her career and her new home in Los Angeles, revealing she filled it with furniture bought from a "fancy" store in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky and has since made friends with her new neighbours, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.
"(I) hang out. Drink wine. I've got a bunch of friends who live really close, thank God. And I've made friends with Mila and Ashton, two doors down. They're awesome. I go over there uninvited. They're probably getting pretty sick of me."
