Janet Jackson has confirmed she is pregnant with her first child.
The 50-year-old singer first sparked rumors she might be expecting in April (16), when she postponed her Unbreakable World Tour to concentrate on "planning" a family with husband Wissam Al Mana.
Now Janet has officially revealed the happy news, posing for a pregnancy portrait for People magazine.
In the snap, the singer is seen standing on the beach as she cradles her growing bump while wearing a tight white dress under a beige jacket.
Speaking about her impending arrival, Janet told People: "We thank God for our blessing."
Janet was seen shopping for baby items in London last month (Sep16), showing off what appeared to be a bump beneath her casual outfit.
Up until now she has remained quiet about the news, with, the People shoot and accompanying quote her only confirmation.
But a source close to the singer revealed she's "doing extremely well", adding to People: "She is super excited about her pregnancy. She actually feels very good about everything."
Janet's sibling Jermaine Jackson previously revealed the entire family is delighted by news of the impending new addition.
"My sister Janet is my baby. She is fine but she’s having a baby," he smiled to Us Weekly. "A baby having a baby. We look at her like our little baby. And now she’s grown up and she’s having a baby. I’m proud to be an uncle and I can’t wait to see how this baby is going to look.
"She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict. I tell her, 'If you need any parenting skills or any baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day'."
