Jake Gyllenhaal has reportedly signed on to star in the big screen adaptation of video game The Division.
Moviemakers are currently looking for a screenwriter, but the Everest actor will lead the cast and serve as a producer, according to Variety.com.
The highly popular game takes place in New York City following a smallpox pandemic. Players are part of the Strategic Homeland Division and are tasked with investigating the outbreak and crimes taking place in the city.
If the reports are true, this will be the second film adaptation of a video game Jake has appeared in - in 2010, he starred in film flop Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
